Nearly everyone has some experience with collage, typically in the context of a school assignment in which they randomly filled a page with an assortment of magazine images representing things they enjoy. But taking the concept of collage to a fine art level is to essentially “paint” with found imagery. The artist crafts an original composition using a palette of printed colors, gradients, textures, and patterns.

This three hour workshop will introduce participants to this unique form of art making, covering a number of strategies and techniques for crafting an original, sophisticated image from bits of cut paper.

The workshop fee covers professional instruction, use of studio space, and use of all necessary art supplies.
